We are a long established club for over forty years and very well known within the local area. Our sport is crown green bowling and we are proud to consider ourselves a very welcoming and friendly club for all ages, ladies and gents.
We are affiliated to the DDBA (Doncaster District Bowling Association), which means we are eligible to enter a variety of leagues and competitions i.e, Monday over 60 singles, Tuesday any age doubles, Wednesday over 60 doubles, Thursday any age singles, Saturday any age singles, At the moment we have a team in each of these leagues.
As a club we provide facilities for social bowling which includes Pot luck every other Friday evening during the season, which is a fun night for our members. There is social bowling on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and everyone is welcome. This is a good time to try your hand as there are always experienced bowlers there to show you the ropes. We also have a selection of club bowls to use .
We recently introduced a club day out and last year we went to Scarborough bowling centre and hired the green for four hours and had a great day. The club has good facilities and the coach driver turned out to be a bit of a comedian and all told, everyone enjoyed it, so we have decided to make it a regular event.
We also run internal competitions and open days to coincide with local events that are happening in our village.
